My Journey & Calling
Hi, I’m Jeff—a lifelong student of God’s Word and a passionate Bible teacher with nearly 30 years of ministry experience. My journey with Jesus began when I was saved and baptized at the age of 10. My journey in ministry began in 1995 when, as a nervous 16-year-old, I preached my first sermon at a small country church in Crawford County, Indiana. That night sparked a fire in my heart to share the Good News of Jesus—a fire that has only grown stronger with time.
I hold a wealth of educational experience to support my calling, including a Bachelor’s in Ministry Administration, a Bachelor’s in Nursing, and a Master’s degree focused on counseling. This blend of ministry and academic training has shaped the way I teach, preach, and serve others, both spiritually and practically.
Ordained by a local Baptist church under Dr. Scott Guffin in 2000 and licensed since the mid-90s, I transferred my ordination in 2014 to the Evangelical Association (www.evangelicalassociation.org). For nearly three decades, I’ve had the privilege of teaching, preaching, and walking alongside God’s people. After almost 20 years in vocational church ministry—including eight years pastoring St. James Church in Louisville—I transitioned to a new chapter in 2018. This change allowed me to dedicate more time to my family and explore fresh opportunities to serve the Lord. Today, my wife Michele and I are blessed to lead a simple house church fellowship in Bullitt County, Kentucky, where we worship, study Scripture, and grow in community with a wonderful group of friends and family.
My approach to preaching is rooted in a love for God’s Word and a dependence on the Holy Spirit. I’m a textual, expositional Bible teacher, but I strive to make Scripture come alive in ways that are practical, engaging, and Spirit-filled. Whether teaching in our house church or serving as a guest speaker in other congregations, I’m committed to helping people encounter the transformative truth of the Gospel.
In addition to my ministry, God has blessed me with a fulfilling career as a nurse educator, where I have the opportunity to serve others in meaningful ways. And while life has brought its share of challenges, one thing has remained constant: Jesus Christ has been faithful through it all. I’m incredibly thankful for my greatest blessings—my amazing wife Michele, our five (mostly) grown children, and their families. Michele and I love camping, tackling home projects, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with our loved ones.
